PROGRAM:

8:45: Departure from Plaza Espanya.

9:00: buses move! BE ON TIME!

10:05: Arrive to Montserrat. The Buses will stop in the parking area in front of the Monastry.

10:30: We will walk through the mountains till the highest peak,it's name is Sant Jeroni (1236 m).

15:00: who wants can visit the cathedral and the Moreneta (black virgin)

17:30: Arrive to Barcelona.

DETAILS:

Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain range near Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range. The main peaks are Sant Jeroni (1,236 m), Montgrós (1,120 m) and Miranda de les Agulles (903 m). It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary.

Montserrat literally means "saw mountain" in Catalan. It describes its peculiar aspect with multitude of rock formations which are visible from a great distance.
