About Zaragoza

Zaragoza is one of the most significant cities in Spain and the capital of Aragon, a region pivotal to the unification of Spain. Its rich history traces back to Roman times, with its name derived from CAESAR AUGUSTUS, later becoming Zaragoza. The city was also conquered by Arabs, and you can visit the Aljafería, the largest Arab palace in Spain after the Alhambra in Granada.

Fiestas del Pilar

In Zaragoza, they celebrate "La Virgen del Pilar." "Pilar" literally means "column." The cathedral of Zaragoza survived a bomb attack, with the column helping to preserve the church. Since then, the "Virgen del Pilar" has been honored at the "Cathedral of Maria del Pilar."

This annual celebration has become iconic throughout Spain and is a must-see for all Erasmus students!

Program Schedule

• 8:45 AM: Meeting point at Plaza Espanya

• 9:00 AM: Departure by bus

• - A stop will be made along the way

• 12:30 PM: Arrival in Zaragoza

• Walking tour together (no professional guide)

• 5:00 PM: Free time to explore the city, enjoy tapas bars, and attend events

• - Visit "El Tubo," a famous street known for its tapas bars in Zaragoza

• Music and good vibes await!

• 00:45 AM: Return to the bus

• 1:00 AM: Depart back to Barcelona

• Approx. 5:00 AM: Arrival back in Barcelona
