Trip to Zaragoza, festival del Pilar

■■ZARAGOZA■■

is one of the most important cities in Spain, is the capital of Aragon one of the most important regions, where the union of Spain come from. Its history have deep roots: funded by Romans. The name come from CAESAR AUGUSTUS then ZARAGOZA. Conquered by Arabs: we can visit the Ajaferia, the buggiest Arab palace in spain after Alahbrah in Granada.

■■FIESTAS DEL PILAR■■

In Zaragoza they celebrate "La virgen del Pilar". Pilar means literally "column". In the past the cathedral of Zaragoza had survived from a bomb attack and the column kept the church alive. From that moment they deceared the "Virgen del Pilar" of "Cathedral of Maria del Pilar".

Every year the celebrate this festivity that became iconical in all over Spain. Is a must-doing for all erasmus students! 

■■COVID situation■■

Rescrictions in Zaragoza are beeing more strict than here at the moment, big events are cancelled but still some concert are happening with limited places.

Bars are all open in the "Casco Antiguo" until 00.30 and capacity at 50%. Some roumors say that this situation can change for next week. 

We are in contact with some bar and clubs to arrange our private party, so stay tuned!

9.00 meeting point at Plaza Espanya

9.15: bus move

 - we make a Spot at 10.30 more or less

12.30: we arrive at Zaragoza

We meet our tour guide and start visit Ajaferia palace, one of the most important Arab palaces in Spain,

then we take the bus again and go to the Plaza del Pilar.

We start our guided tour throught the center and casco antiguo and learn the city and its history!

16h at this time more or less we have free time: enjoy the city, the tapas bars, the events and

- Visit "El Tubo": is a famous street of tapas bars of Zaragoza

19.00 some concert happen in the Plaza del Pilar (Las Jotas D'Aragon, a tipical music, check on YouTube what is it)

19.30: meetup at 19.30h at bar AL LIO (info: https://es.restaurantguru.com/Al-Lio-Zaragoza)

 - Tapas of Croquetones: big croquetas of many kind (they only have this)

 - Beers from 3€

 - drinks from 7€
